De Eenhoorn has a solid international reputation as a publisher of high quality picture books. The philosophy of the company can be summarized in three main points: original stories that appeal to both children and adults, unique illustrations and a perfect finish. Not surprisingly, the publishing house has won numerous prizes. In Belgium, De Eenhoorn won the Book Peacock, the prize for the best illustrations, nine times. Abroad, De Eenhoorn won the prestigious Bologna Ragazzi Award and several White Ravens. Besides picture books, De Eenhoorn publishes books for young readers, fiction for the age of 7 up to 15 and gift books for adults. De Eenhoorn publishes 50 new titles every year. Its backlist shows over 500 titles. Rights of more than 150 titles have been sold to publishing houses around the world.
